Clarifying our Scanner Feature’s Access
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a transparent and user-focused experience, we would like to address recent discussions within our community regarding the accessibility of our scanner feature.
We want to clarify that the scanner has always been part of Dex’s premium features, which are behind our paywall. This model was designed with the intent to offer a sustainable and continuously improving service to our users who opt for the paid version of the app.
Due to an unintentional bug, this feature was temporarily accessible to some free users. We understand that this may have created some confusion when the bug was fixed, and access was restricted once again to our premium users as originally planned. We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding this has caused and appreciate the patience and support of our community as we resolved this issue.
The decision to place certain features behind a paywall is made with careful consideration. As a small team of two, with families to support and finite resources at our disposal, we must be mindful of the financial aspects of running the Dex app. The costs incurred by the scanner feature include server maintenance, technical support, and the continual refinement to ensure top-notch performance for our users.
We assure you that every decision we make, including this one, is with the long-term interest of our community in mind. Our goal is to ensure that we can maintain and develop the Dex app for many years to come, constantly adding value and enhancing the collecting experience.
We truly value the input and feedback from all our users. Your contributions help us shape the future of Dex, allowing us to innovate and tailor our services to better meet your needs as collectors and enthusiasts.
Thank you for your understanding and for being an integral part of the Dex community. We are committed to keeping the lines of communication open and encourage you to reach out to us with any questions or feedback.
