On June 19 at 4:00 AM UTC, we began planned server maintenance in preparation for the early access launch of Dex on the Web. During the final steps of this maintenance, an unexpected issue with our infrastructure provider resulted in a prolonged outage of our online services. Although core app functionality remained available for logged-in users, new logins and account creation were temporarily unavailable. Service restoration was delayed due to factors outside our direct control, and full recovery was completed later that evening. You can learn more about it here.

What does this mean to you?

Aside from the inconvenience of not being able to log back in or sync your data across devices, this shouldn’t affect your experience too much — the app should continue working offline, and any changes will sync automatically once it’s able to reconnect to our services.

That said, if you currently have access to your collection, we strongly recommend creating a local backup just to be extra safe. Here’s how:

  1. Open Dex
  2. Tap your avatar in the top-left corner
  3. Navigate to Data > Backups, then tap the “+” button in the top-right corner
  4. That’s it! You’ve just created a backup based on the data currently stored on your device

With that out of the way, your data is safely backed up on your device no matter what happens next.

What’s likely to happen?

If your device was disconnected from our online services during the outage, you may need to re-establish that connection.

Don’t worry — it’s easy! If you see a ⚠️ on your avatar (top-left corner), just tap it and follow the instructions. You shouldn’t need to log out or do anything else beyond that, unless you're told to do so by a member of our team.
